At times it can be easy to get bogged down with the day-to-day activities and forget that we are actually valuable to those around us. I know I’ve felt that way before, and you probably have as well, which is why I think this week’s challenge is the best one so far.
Encouragement Challenge: Increase Their Positive Self-Esteem
Look around you and find one person that seems to be struggling with their self-esteem. It could be someone you work with, a child, your spouse, or a friend. Pick someone that you will have multiple interactions with over the course of the week.
Make it your priority to encourage them this week and bolster their self-esteem in the process. Of course, there are so many ways you can do this, so get creative. If you are still at a loss, use one of mine:
- If you know they have a topic that they are well-versed in, ask them to use their knowledge to help you out. They’ll feel great about the fact that they were able to do so.
- Compliment them sincerely for who they are, something they’ve done, or anything else that will make them feel better about themselves. Make sure it is sincere, though.
- Teach them or give them an opportunity to learn a skill that will make them feel more comfortable as they move forward in their career or life. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just something that will make their life easier (and the lives of those around them.)
Have an idea? Great!
