Welcome to Day 1 of the Lemon Blessings Unusual Spring Cleaning Challenge. I’m so glad you decided to join us! If you are only in this for the cleaning tasks, feel free to scroll to the bottom of the page and get started. If you are, however, excited about the possibility of winning a prize in this challenge, keep reading.
In addition to cleaning our homes this week, I’d like to challenge us to Spring Clean other areas of our lives as well. Each day will be different, but today’s focus: Spring Cleaning Your Digital Life.
Digital Spring Cleaning Tasks
Task 1: Phone
You might be a person who always performs the required updates to your phone, removes and backs up the pictures regularly, and maintains and deletes apps that aren’t used. If that’s you, then disregard this task. If not, now is the time to do so. Perform the updates, back up your photos and remove them from your phone, clean off your text messages, and delete any apps you haven’t used in the past six months.
Task 2: Computer
If you are anything like me, you might be panicking a little about what I might have you do to your computer. Trust me, I’m not computer savvy, but I do know a few things. To start with, clear off your desktop of any files that you are not using right now. Place them in your documents folder. Arrange your folders alphabetically, removing anything that isn’t necessary, and combining files that are similar. Add subfolders if necessary to further organize your digital files. This will allow you to find items more quickly and easily when you need them in the future. Back up your computer to an external hard drive or to a cloud-based system.
Task 3: Change your Passwords
You know that password you’ve been using on every account since college? Time to say goodbye to it and come up with a new, stronger one. Also – don’t use the same password on every account – if you get hacked once, the hackers will try that password on anything else they can find. Do this on any and all accounts you have.
After carefully considering today’s tasks, follow one of the social media links below and answer today’s question:
QUESTION: Before today’s assignment, how long had it been since you’d updated your computer or tablet?
