Encouragement Challenge: You and Your Valentine

Red is my favorite color.

Not just any red, mind you, but that bluish red that all the Valentine’s Day décor comes out in. It’s my favorite, and I just can’t help but snatch up all the cute red mugs at Starbucks and the little red tins I can use to store pens and pencils (and other items) for the upcoming year.

Encouragement Challenge: You and Your Valentine

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, this week’s challenge is all about creatively showing someone you love them. Valentine’s Day and the time around it can be a struggle for many people. It could be that someone was expecting to have a boyfriend or spouse during this time but will spend it all alone. Or, maybe, someone is missing a loved one that is no longer with us.

Take the time this week to generously let that person know that they are loved by you. Make a special card, buy their favorite flowers, take them out to dinner, deliver a cup of coffee, or whatever else you come up with.

My hope is that by doing so you’ll find, if you are the lonely person, struggling to get through the holiday, you’ll have a purpose and find joy in this task. If you already have a significant other you might find that you ease the lonely feeling of someone else around you.

Tip: If you want to add a line item in your budget so that you can continue to bless those around you (we call it a generosity fund!), then you’ll want to grab my FREE Family Budget Workbook. Find it HERE.
